Water Switch System Operation

Description of Controls and Indications in the Controller:

1) Manual – Off/Reset – Auto Switch

Off/Reset Mode: The controller function is off, and the pump will not run in this mode. Also used
to reset when Dry Run Tripped.
Auto Mode: The controller function is automatic, and the motor is on/off. The tank filling function will take place automatically depending on the tank level, voltage conditions, etc.
Manual Mode: The controller function is overridden, and the pump control output is continuously on irrespective of the water level in the overhead tank, sump, and well. The low voltage and high voltage, and Dry Run Protection for the motor will not be available in this mode.

2) Indicators: Pump On/Output On:

Indicates the Controller output is “ON”; thus, the pump is ON
Dry Run: Indicates Controller Tripped (Auto Mode) due to Dry Run (or Indicates Running Dry in Manual Mode)
High Voltage: Indicates the mains voltage is very high (motor is”Cut Off” if the controller is in “Auto” mode)
Low Voltage: Indicates the mains voltage is very low (motor is “Cut off if the controller is in ‘Auto’ mode)                                                                    Sump Empty: Indicates the Sump/Well is empty.
Tank Full: Indicates the overhead tank is full.
Auto: Indicates the control function is in automatic mode
Operation:
After you power up the Controller, set the switch to the Auto position if you want the tank filling operation to run automatically. This position represents the Controller’s normal operating mode. If the DR Switch is fitted, the system will monitor water delivery for 1–2 minutes. If it does not detect water flow within this time, the Controller will trigger a Dry Run trip.

Dry Run Reset Function – If a Dry Run occurs, identify the cause and perform the necessary repairs. To reset, turn the Controller Switch to the Off/Reset position, then switch it to the Auto position for normal operation. To keep the motor pump running continuously—even when the overhead tank is full, the sump is empty, or the mains voltage is high or low—set the switch to the Manual position. Please note that selecting Manual mode disables protections such as high voltage, low voltage, and Dry Run. The Manual function operates only within the controller’s specified voltage range. To switch off the motor, turn the switch to the Off/Reset position. The motor will not run when the switch is in this position. When you switch on the motor, the timer contact will close for 2–4 seconds.
